The centres at Glenshee & The Lecht are both 30 minutes drive from the Deeside Hotel.

 

Glenshee Ski Centre

Glenshee is situated on the A93, 9 miles south of Braemar and 25 miles north of Blairgowrie. Map below.

 

The Lecht Ski Centre

Lecht 2090 is at 2090 feet above sea level amid the beauty of the Eastern Cairngorms. This natural playground offers exciting year-round activities:

Straddling the A939 on the famous Cockbridge to Tomintoul road, Lecht 2090 is easily reached from Speyside and Aviemore, Donside and Aberdeen, Royal Deeside and Perth.

Useful centres/shops

Cairnwell (2069 - 3502 feet) (tel 013397 41320) . 9 miles south of Braemar on A93. 26 Tows and 2 Chair-lifts. Restaurants; shop, toilets. Ski and Snowboard hire, instruction. Extensive parking. In summer the chair-lifts run to the top of the Cairnwell and the restaurant is open for meals, snacks and drinks.

The Lecht Ski Centre, Strathdon, (tel 01975 651440) : 25 miles north of Braemar, superbly complementing Glenshee, especially for beginners.

 

Braemar Mountain Sports, Mar Road, Braemar (tel 013397 41242) . Offering cross-country ski hire and tuition. Mountain bike hire.

 

Cairnwell Mountain Sports Glenshee by Blairgowrie (tel 01250 885255) . Hang Gliding, abseilling, skiing etc. tuition and hire.
