Stone Circles

The Grampian region hosts more than 10% of Britain’s stone circles with special notice given to the local speciality the recumbent stone circle. The bronze Age brought forth a wealth of monuments, circles, cairns and forts.

 

Examples may be found at the following: Loanhead of Daviot, Easter Aquhorthies, Midmar Kirk, Cullerlie, Strichen, Aiky Brae, Louden Wood, Whitehill - Bogmore Wood, Tomnaverie, Clune Hill.
